Hello travelers! How are you? Today we came to talk about one of our typical costumes, that of the Nazaré. We hope you enjoy!
The dress of the Nazarene woman is extremely rich, both for its history and for its aesthetic harmony. Rich or poor, for parties or work, the feminine costume of Nazaré is still widely used in the daily life of this land of fishermen, full of legends, myths and traditions.
The seven skirts are part of the tradition, myth and legends of this land so closely linked to the sea. The people who represent the seven virtues say; the seven days of the week; seven colors of the rainbow; the seven waves of the sea, among other biblical, mythical and magical attributions involving the number seven.
The female Nazarene costume continues to be used on a daily basis by older women, especially those most connected to the sea and selling fish.
